The engagement.
Uganda's cocoa and beekeeping sectors offer significant income potential for smallholder farmers, but farmer organisations often lack the business management capacity to realise it. Under Swisscontact's SDC-funded Dynamic Markets for Farmers programme, Belli Advisory provided business development support to Semuliki Cooperative Union, a farmer organisation in Bundibugyo district serving members across Kabarole and Ntoroko districts. We worked to improve SEMCU's capacity, business operations, and market performance, supporting their core mandate of connecting members to markets, extension services, finance, and advocacy. The broader programme aims to increase household incomes for 8,000 smallholder cocoa farmers and 3,556 beekeepers across 10 Ugandan districts.
