The e-cooking pilot project is the first call for small-scale projects under Demonstration and Market Introduction Fund Window and is being implemented under a consortium of EnDev Uganda and the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) Program. This project sought to build on the experiences and recommendations of existing studies such as the GIZ Alternative Fuel Study (GIZ, 2021) and e-Cooking Market Assessments for Uganda that was conducted by Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) and clearly understand domestic cooking energy usage and the compatibility of energy-efficient electric cooking appliances (specifically Electric Pressure Cookers (EPCs).
